Google has not yet formally placed the Pixel 11 in buyers’ hands, but the smartphone is already dominating technology discussions two days before its official unveiling.
The company will present its new hardware during the Made by Google event in New York on 12 August. The showcase is expected to include the standard Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and a new generation of Google’s foldable phone.
Attention on Monday centred on benchmark information associated with the Tensor G6, Google’s next custom smartphone processor. The leaked results suggest that the chip could deliver a noticeable improvement in general processing and artificial-intelligence workloads. However, benchmark entries can be manipulated or obtained from unfinished devices, meaning the numbers should not be treated as final until independent testing begins.
Reports indicate that Tensor G6 could use a seven-core processor arrangement and a more advanced manufacturing process. Its greatest importance may not be raw speed, but its ability to run additional Gemini features directly on the phone. Local AI processing can provide faster responses and stronger privacy because some information does not have to leave the device.
The Pixel 11 family is also expected to introduce Google’s Titan M3 security technology, improved computational photography and a different mobile modem. A modem change would be particularly significant because connectivity, heat and battery consumption have been recurring concerns among some previous Pixel owners.
Google’s pricing strategy is attracting almost as much attention as the hardware. Buyers are preparing for increases across parts of the range as smartphone manufacturers struggle with rising memory costs, advanced-chip expenses and the growing cost of developing AI services.
The expected price increase creates a difficult test for Google. Pixel phones compete against premium devices from Apple and Samsung, but their appeal has traditionally depended on combining distinctive software with comparatively aggressive pricing. Moving further into luxury territory will require Google to demonstrate improvements that users can experience—not merely impressive technical specifications.
The Pixel Watch 5 is also expected at the event, extending Google’s attempt to build a closely connected ecosystem of phones, watches, earbuds and Gemini-powered services.
