After spending much of his career behind masks, pseudonyms and collaborative projects, Olof Dreijer is finally preparing to command the stage under his own name.

The Swedish producer and former member of electronic duo The Knife announced his first solo tour on Thursday, 6 August 2026. The tour will introduce audiences to a newly constructed live show centred on Loud Bloom, his debut solo album released earlier this year.

The journey will begin at Philadelphia’s Ruba Club on 25 September. Dreijer will then perform in New York, Chicago, Washington and Montreal before crossing the Atlantic for concerts in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany and the United Kingdom.

The final performance is scheduled for the Simple Things Festival in Bristol on 7 November.

Although Dreijer has appeared at clubs and festivals as a DJ, the new production represents something different. It is being developed as a complete solo concert rather than an ordinary DJ set, with the music rearranged specifically for live performance.

Dreijer says he has been experimenting and rehearsing while combining material from Loud Bloom with remixes and selections from earlier stages of his career. His goal is to create an energetic performance in which movement and audience participation are as important as the technical production.

A specialised lighting team is also creating the visual component of the show. This could give each performance the immersive atmosphere associated with Dreijer’s earlier work while establishing a brighter identity for his solo career.

A New Identity Beyond The Knife

Dreijer became internationally recognised as one half of The Knife, the influential electronic duo he formed with his sibling Karin Dreijer. The group developed a mysterious public image and became known for experimental productions, unusual vocal treatments and live performances that often blurred the boundaries between music, theatre and visual art.

Following The Knife’s period of inactivity, Dreijer spent several years producing and collaborating with other performers. He also released music under different identities before returning to work issued under his own name.

That return gathered momentum with the 2023 EP Rosa Rugosa. Further solo recordings and remixes followed, preparing the way for Loud Bloom, which arrived on 8 May 2026 through DH2, the electronic division of Dirty Hit.

The album presents a more colourful and playful side of Dreijer’s production. Its electronic foundations are mixed with rhythmic ideas connected to techno, dancehall, cumbia, kuduro and other international club traditions.

Collaborators on the project include Sudanese vocalist MaMan, Colombian percussionist and producer Diva Cruz, and South African musician Toya Delazy. Their contributions help give the album a musical identity that extends beyond a single country or electronic genre.

Tickets for some performances are already available, while additional sales are expected to begin on 10 August at 5 p.m. local time.

Why This Matters

The tour marks an important personal transition for an artist long associated with collective identities. Instead of attempting to reproduce The Knife’s past, Dreijer is building a performance around the freedom, rhythm and optimism of his newer work.

It also demonstrates that a solo debut does not always represent the beginning of an artist’s career. Dreijer brings decades of production experience to this first tour, but must now establish a direct relationship with audiences without using a famous group as the centre of the performance.
