Christmas may still be several months away, but Pentatonix is already preparing to fill some of North America’s biggest arenas with music, lights and five-part vocal harmonies.
The celebrated a cappella group announced on Thursday, 6 August 2026, that its Christmas in the City Tour will return for an extensive new run covering 28 cities. The journey is scheduled to begin in Tacoma, Washington, on 5 November before travelling through the western United States, the Midwest, the Northeast and several southern states.
Rather than presenting a traditional seasonal concert, Pentatonix is developing the tour as a theatrical holiday experience. Audiences can expect the group’s voices to remain at the centre of the production, supported by elaborate staging, carefully arranged lighting and a visual atmosphere inspired by Christmas in a busy city.
The tour is connected to the deluxe edition of Christmas in the City, originally released in 2025 as the group’s eighth Christmas album. The project combines familiar festive standards with original material and a warmer, jazz-influenced sound inspired by the atmosphere of New York during the holiday season.
Pentatonix has built an unusually strong relationship with Christmas music. While many performers treat seasonal albums as occasional side projects, the five-member group has made holiday recordings and tours an important part of its identity. Its vocal arrangements frequently transform familiar songs by replacing conventional instruments with layered voices, vocal percussion and Kevin Olusola’s distinctive beatboxing.
The 2026 tour will include scheduled performances in cities such as Buffalo, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Atlanta, Nashville, Raleigh and Lubbock. A Buffalo concert is set for 18 November, while the Lubbock appearance will take place on 17 December.
Advance ticket opportunities will be offered in stages. Pentatonix Patreon members are expected to receive early access beginning on 10 August, followed by an artist presale on 11 August. General ticket sales are scheduled to open on 14 August at 10 a.m. local time, although arrangements may differ between venues.
More Than a Seasonal Tradition
The tour arrives during an active creative period for Pentatonix. Beyond its festive catalogue, the group has recently explored a more cinematic pop direction through original releases including “Heaven on Earth” and “Sacrifice.”
That expansion is important for a group that first became widely known through televised competition and online performances. Pentatonix has since grown into an international concert attraction, won three Grammy Awards and sold millions of recordings without abandoning the vocal format that made it distinctive.
The latest tour announcement also demonstrates the commercial power of seasonal entertainment. Christmas productions can attract families, long-time followers and casual listeners at the same time, allowing successful performers to transform familiar music into a recurring live-event experience.
For Pentatonix, the season is no longer represented by a single album or annual television appearance. It has become an entire performance world one that the group intends to rebuild across 28 arenas before Christmas arrives.
