FIFA has unveiled plans to significantly expand its investment in football development, proposing that more than US$10 billion be allocated to development programmes worldwide. The proposal will be presented to FIFA Member Associations for approval and represents one of the governing body's largest commitments to supporting the growth of the sport.
According to FIFA, the additional funding is intended to help national football associations improve infrastructure, develop youth talent, strengthen coaching standards, and expand grassroots football initiatives. The organisation says the investment is part of its long-term strategy to ensure football continues to grow in every region while creating more opportunities for players, coaches, and local communities.
If approved, the initiative will further increase FIFA's support for member associations as they work to develop the game at all levels and build a stronger global football ecosystem.
